Apparitions and cold spots (2005 – present)

(9/14/05 approximately 8ish)

Lots of things have happened, but I’ve gotten to the point where I’m not sure anyone actually believes me.

The most significant was sometime this past summer, and I was on the upper deck looking toward the lowest one, when between the house and the brick pillar I saw the image of a male dressed in pale colored clothing (shirt tucked into long pants with a belt). He was walking from the house toward the back yard, and then he disappeared. This was about 15 minutes before sunset.

The usual cigarette smells in the Dining Room and Guest Bedroom on and off throughout the year.

The back door opening once (both DF and I witnessed that one). Occasionally hear a door shut upstairs.

Activity seems to pick up in the few days before a full moon. Anyway, DF keeps telling me to document, so I start again…

Sitting on the Great Room couch and noticed a very dark entity wearing what looked to be a cape walking across the Dining Room (between the table and the front wall, and from the direction of the Kitchen).

It was hunched over, but if it stood erect I would estimate it about 6′ or so. I also got the impression it was male. Even though it was completely black, I did not feel that it was threatening.

(9/15/05 in the mid-afternoon)

I was walking from the Dining Room to the Great Room, and noticed what appeared to be a child running up the stairs.

I actually was able to turn my head and see the entity round the corner to go up to the second set of stairs. The effect was like something going very fast and leaving white contrails.

Was standing by the half-wall in the front entry and heard a door shut upstairs. Went to investigate with 3 dogs in tow and found nothing (as in a burglar).

Smell of cigarette smoke in the Dining Room on and off throughout the day.

Sitting on toilet, and heard from the bathroom area the sound of a male inhaling and then exhaling.

Sitting on couch, and out of the corner of my left eye saw the black shape again walking in the Dining Room (from Kitchen toward Entry Hall).

Actually noticed the darkness pass in front of the shine of the sword hanging on the Dining Room wall.

Walked through the Dining Room (between table and window) and hit an ice cold spot that chilled me from head to toe. Actually was quite aware how cold my feet were.

Walked back through the space, and was still freezing cold.

Then walked through a third time and temperature was normal.

(11/13/05 @ 10:30 PM)

Went to sit on couch and middle section of couch was freezing cold.

Laid down on couch, and the icy feeling remained that way for well over an hour.

Got up and came back, and couch was still ice cold in the middle section. Rest of couch was not cold.

DF then took pictures of the couch area and several orbs showed up in the photos.

Woke up in the morning and felt that something was on my right big toe. Kept rubbing it with other foot, and sensation was still there.

Pulled right foot out from under covers and found a small clear rubber band on my big toe.

Had DF come up and see it, and he actually had to stretch it to get it off my toe. Could this have been AF?

(3/29/06 @ 2:10 PM – New Moon)

The bells hanging by the back door ring once (as if one of the dogs is wanting to go out), then about 30 seconds to a minute later they ring once more.

I get up to let whatever dog is wanting out. Find MF sleeping in chair in Family Room, EF was at my feet at the computer, and HF was upstairs.

I said out loud that I guess nobody wants to go out except for the ghost. Was it the ghost?

Actually the only thing we’ve done is learned to coexist with our “ghosties.”

I do ask them on occasion — when they get bothersome — to please follow the rules, especially about the smoking.

At this point, it’s been going on for 7 years, and we do go through periods where it’s quiet (or we’re used to it, and don’t tend to notice).  All in all, it’s more surprising when things happen, rather than being scary.

We have no intention of moving out of our home, but we would love to know their names, so we can address them properly.

So there you go, welcome to our house!
